What you need to know...

There’s Munster and then there’s Munster! We get our Munster Géromé from the Massif Vosgien, and it presents itself in a shape more important than its Alsatian homonym, from the Munster Valley.  Thicker and larger, the size of a plate in fact, and with the thickness of a Livarot, it is a lightly chalky paste during affinage, in order to bind itself together, and delivers itself with a melting texture, marked by its powerful and lactic aromas.  Its strong taste will last a long time on the pallet: accompany it with a Riesling if it is young and a Gewurtzstraminer at its apex of ripeness.
