The Gérard Metz Estate stretches over 12 hectares of vines on the Vosges foothills.  Traditional working of the vine is practiced.  The Réserve du Domaine wines come from vines which are more than 30 years old, whose yields are controlled so as to obtain the best concentrations and a pronounced richness.  The grapes are picked in mid-November and left on their stalks to dry out, and so concentrate maximum amounts of sugar.  In the fullness of time the grapes give this exceptional wine with its atypical and surprising aromas.
